OUR HISTORY

In 1974, Trinity was organized under the leadership of Rev. Donald Hanberry after visiting approximately 5,000 homes door-to-door. The original charter was signed by 218 members. At the time, Trinity was the largest organizing congregation of the Southeastern Synod of the Lutheran Church in America.

Rev. Hanberry served as pastor until 1987. Trinity has also been served by Rev. Dale Sillik (1987–2018) and Rev. Jill Henning (1995–2017). Today, Trinity is served by Rev. Scott Sessler and Rev. Katie Christie.

Forty years ago, Trinity established a preschool and expanded its Community Schools program to include a before and after school care program, as well as a summer camp program, TLC for Kids. Trinity has assisted in establishing two other Gwinnett County churches, Christ the Lord in Lawrenceville and Community of Grace in Grayson. Trinity is a founding member of the Southeast Gwinnett Co-Op and a member of the Lilburn Co-Op ministries.

Trinity continues to grow and seek to be a community center, reaching out to our neighbors and celebrating over forty-five years of worship, fellowship, service and growth.
